Denali Stomp

This is one of the new tracks recorded for our next CD. It is a set of three "Old Time" tunes, though the middle one is an orignal that I wrote last summer in Alaska. The tunes are:

Sheadon's Waltz

This is an instrumental written by Griff Bear. It was written as the papa bear was playing the violin at 5am to get his baby bear (Sheadon) back to sleep. This is one of several tunes we recorded at Mississippi Studios in Portland on 3/21/06. More to come ...

Tullamore Dew

This is a brand new song. It seems to be a love song ... for whiskey. This particular version is the first "rough draft" version. Listen for more to come.

This is from our live CD recorded live at Kells in Portland, OR in 1999. 'A perfectly lovely song that's covered often. This is Griff's favorite song on this CD.

Take the Skinheads Bowling

This is a song by Camper Van Beethoven, one of Matt's favorite bands. We were inspired to do this song when we all saw Camper together last year. Fun Fun & More Fun!

Cajun Stripper/Bear Rush

The first of these tunes is a very common Cajun tune that Griff learned from a book of Cajun Music. The second tune is based on an Old Time tune called Goldrush. A few years ago, Griff & his family were travelling in North Carolina and heard (and played) Goldrush several times ... but when they got back home to Portland, Griff couldn't remember it ... exactly. So the result is this variation, that we call Bear Rush.

This recording is another cut from the live radio show we did on KBOO (90.7 - Portland, OR) the night before Thanksgiving. Thanks to Sean Flora, KBOO, and our friend Tullamore Dew.
